The Democrat and Republican parties in NC have excluded the Libertarian candidate for Governor from their five scheduled debates to take place throughout the rest of the campaign season. This after the Libertarians spent over $130 thousand dollars to collect the 70,000 required signatures needed just to qualify to get on the ballot!
(BTW: North Carolina has one of the most stringent ballot access laws in the country)
I just have one question for the two parties: why do you want to exclude someone other than yourselves from these debates? Are you afraid that if you do invite a third party that they might have a chance of winning the election? Are you afraid that the third party candidate might expose your plans for total and complete domination of the electorate?
I for one do not understand why both major parties, the ones who espouse "counting every vote" and "listening to the people", would be opposed to having a third party candidate at the debates. I believe it would be helpful for the voters to get a look at an alternative choice if they are not satisfied with the current crop of candidates. Also, it would help to get the name out on third parties in this country, something which I think is desperately needed.

They are scared. I plan on voting for Bob Barr. McCain is too wishy-washy and I think Obama would be a grave mistake!
I totally agree with you. I have heard nothing from Obama nor McCain about freedom and individuality. Hopefully the party in NC can get at least 2 percent of the vote so it doesn't have to spend $130,000 to get signatures just to get on the ballot.
Thanks for stopping by!
The far left is for taking rights and telling you how to live your life. I don't need them f#ckers telling me a thing. Bob Barr 2008!
